LYCIA, Candyba. Gordian III. AD 238-244. Æ (29mm, 17.03 g, 12h). Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / Deucalion standing facing, head right, holding scepter, hand on hip. von Aulock, Lykien –; RPC VII.2 2217. Brown patina, deposits. VF. Extremely rare; only one known to RPC, the second known.

Deucalion was the son of Prometheus, the Titon god of fire, and Pyrrha, daughter of Pandora. Their son, Candybus, founded the city of Candyba.
